Cameroonian gendarmes and the failure of Cameroon to observe the Green

have urged the Federal Government to file a fresh case to recover the
Peninsula.

The Nigeria Labour Congress has warned
the Federal Government against any surreptitious move to increase the
price of petroleum products in the country.
NLC President, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar,
warned in a statement on Friday that any increase in the price of fuel
would lead to a crisis as the congress would call out Nigerians to
resist it.

Tempers
rose at various flood relief camps in Bayelsa State following an
eviction order issued to the victims by the state Emergency Flood
Management Committee.
The committee, headed by the deputy
governor of the state, Rear Admiral John Jonah (retd.), had ordered the
victims to leave the camps and go back to their communities.
But the displaced persons, who spoke to us on Saturday, accused the committee members of working at variance with the promises of the government to resettle them.

A 28-year old suspected Facebook fraudster, Benjamin Asuahor, of
Eleko town in Lagos State was on Thursday arraigned before an Abuja
Magistrates’ Court, Life Camp for alleged cheating.
The accused, who appeared before Chief Magistrate Rahmatu Gulma, was also charged with criminal breach of trust and criminal intimidation, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

News: Nigerians Deported From UK Over Scams
At least 60 Nigerians resident in the United Kingdom have been deported because of various criminal offences.
We learnt that some of the deportees had contravened immigration rules.
While some were deported for their involvement in crimes such as rape, stealing, smoking and selling of hard drugs, others used fake visa or engaged in fake marriages.
Some of the deportees told us at the airport that they had lived in the UK for long but could not get residence permit.

An Ado Ekiti High Court has ruled that the state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, does not have the constitutional power to appoint key officials of local governments in the state.
Justice Isaac Ogunyemi had, in his ruling on Monday, said the governor did not have the power to appoint secretaries, personal assistants and supervisors for the local governments.

of vigilante groups to assist in securing the lives and property of
people at the grassroots.
The Commissioner for Justice, Mr Kish Adamu, represented by his Permanent Secretary, Mohammed Aminu, told newsmen after the state executive council meeting in Kaduna. Adamu said the incessant security challenges witnessed in the state neccessiated the need for the government to legalise vigilante groups to assist in safeguarding the people.
He said the council had approved a draft bill on the establishment of vigilante service, which would be submitted to the State House of Assembly for passage into law.

News: A 73-year Old Nigerian Woman Drug Suspect Died In Brazil
A 73-year old Nigerian woman, held for suspected involvement in drug
peddling by Brazilian authorities has died in a hospital in that
Country.
Mrs. Hafsat Awosade, a grandmother, was reportedly held early last year by Brazillian security authorities with illicit drugs. She died last week.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa(ACN-Lagos), who announced this at a press briefing yesterday, regretted that Mrs. Awosade died before she was found guilty of allegations of drug dealing.

graduates produced by the University of Ibadan (UI) at its convocation
