Technology: Dodge cars 2014

 Dodge Avenger

Differentiating itself completely from being too similar to the Chrysler 200, the 2014 Dodge Avenger becomes a rear wheel drive sporty sedan based on the shared-with-Alfa D-RWD setup — we think.
Option A: Now built on the lengthened CUSW+ (DUSW) platform, the new Avenger gives Caliber hatchback owners something to move into without having to give up the versatility of a hatch.  Available with AWD, it almost seems like this is a return to the original Avenger concept from 2002.
Option B: Instead of trying to sell hatchbacks to sedan-lovin’ Americans, Dodge puts Avenger onto a new setup created for Alfa Romeo — a rear wheel drive architecture crammed into a stretched CUSW platform. Built at the Belvedere plant, Dodge Avenger helps to maintain Dodge’s muscle image with a car that’s smaller than Charger, but can still pack a 6.2 liter supercharged Hemi.

SRT Viper

Viper continues, and for 2014, a new Competition Coupe is released based on tuning done at tracks around the world.

Technology: 2014 Chrysler Brand Cars

Chrysler 100 / Lancia Delta

Derived from the Giulietta/Dodge Dart platform and produced in Illinois, the 100 hatchback takes the place of the PT Cruiser held as the small Chrysler; it is primarily created as the new Lancia Delta. It evokes memories of the first generation Delta and Lancia's past success in rallying.  A version of the Lancia Delta with a Chrysler front fascia has already been spotted.
The existing Delta was based on the old C platform, and the new Delta and Chrysler 100 will probably be on the Americanized CUSW, as the Dart is. We expect the 100 to be smaller and lighter than the Dart, without the base 2.0 engine, and with a retuned 1.4 Turbo (or revised gearing) for more power off the line. We currently do not know whether it will be a hatchback or a sedan — possibly they plan to do both, and to differentiate the 100 from the Dart in other ways. It could be smaller and lighter and therefore quicker than Dart, with a different feel; or it could have a 3.2 liter V6 under the hood; or....

News: Another Clash Over Property Tax Law In Benin

There was commotion at the ever busy Kings Square in Benin, capital of Nigeria’s Edo state Monday afternoon, following a clash between supporters of the newly introduced Property Tax law and those against it.
Witnesses said those against the law under the auspices of Edo Youth Congress and led by one Adebame Eichie had converged at the State House of Assembly-end of the Kings Square to commence a protest against the property tax law signed by Governor Adams Oshiomhole last Friday. But another group in support of the law led by Tony Kabaka emerged and descended on them.

News: Do Not Privatise Prisons, Decentralise Them

A NOVEL controversy has joined the queue in the public arena: the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) intends to invite the private sector to manage Nigerian prisons.
Abba Moro, the Hon Minister for the Interior, disclosed this while receiving a delegation of the African National Congress (ANC) ofSouth Africa in his office.
The same delegation had visited Bamanga Tukur, the National Chairman ofNigeria’s ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who indicated the readiness of his Party to embrace the idea of turning the management of correctional facilities into a profit-making venture in Nigeria.
To many Nigerians the very notion of privatising prisons is shocking. It is yet another sign that our government these days is tired of governing.
They just want to be in power, award contracts, make big money and keep on being in power without the vision, sweat and sacrifices that true leadership entails.
I would have equally been shocked if I had not stumbled upon a feature in the New York Times during my recent trip to the US. It painted the picture of the private prisons system as a dominant part of American law enforcement and correction.
