News: Bombed UN Building To Rebuild By FG With N5.2bn

The Federal Executive Council, FEC, chaired by the Vice President Namadi  Sambo, yesterday, approved contracts  worth N199.19 billion in various sectors of the economy.
Of this amount, road construction and rehabilitation across different geo-political zones of the country took the lion share of N176.13 billion while the construction of terminal building as well as control tower at the Yenagoa airport was approved at the cost of N13.91 billion while the reconstruction of the bombed United Nations Building in Abuja was approved for N5.2 billion.

News:Building collapses in Lagos And Killed 2 Sister (FULL STORY)

A BUILDING located in Low Cost Housing Estate, otherwise called Jakande estate, in Oke-Ake-Afa, Isolo area of  Lagos, collapsed, yesterday, killing two graduate sisters.
The mother of the dead girls, identified as Mrs Coker, a widow, who was brought out of the debris alive was, however, in coma yesterday. Affected were flats 2, 4 and 6 of the six flat low-cost houses built over 30 years ago.
The building, Block M20, according to eye witnesses started showing cracks and sinking over a year ago. The tragic incident as gathered, occurred at about midnight causing  a deafening sound. Vanguard gathered that while occupants in flats 2 and 4 managed to escape, those in flat 6 – Mrs Coker and her two children: Toyin, a graduate of the University of Lagos and her younger sister, Bukola, did not.

News: 30-Minute-old Baby Snatched Inside A Maternity

The Police in Umuahia, the Abia capital, said they have begun investigating the possible involvement of the father of a new born baby snatched inside a maternity Labour Room at Nkwoegwu, a suburb of Umuahia.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the baby was snatched barely 30 minutes after birth on Nov. 13, 2012.
Mr Jonathan Amaechi, the acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abia Command, told journalists in Umuahia that they were working on the possible involvement of the father of the baby in the crime.

News: Building Collapses In Lagos with 2 sisters' Life

A two-storey building, Block M20, Jakande Estate, at Church Street, Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos, on Wednesday collapsed at about midnight killing two sisters.
The sisters in their mid-twenties,were pulled out from the debris dead,while their mother was seriously injured and had been taken to the hospital.
At 6.15 a.m, some officials of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) came and took the corpses away.
Also  some other buildings around the vicinity were noticed to have severe cracks. The buildings were erected about 30 years ago.

News: Passenger With $320,000 At Lagos Airport Was Arrested By Customs.

The Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Command of Nigeria Customs Service yesterday arrested a passenger with over $320,000 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, about boarding a Qatar Airways flight bound for Doha, in the Gulf region.
The passenger identified as Onwuekwe  Anthony Chidi, was checking in on Qatar Airways, when he declared the money, but could not explain the source of the currency as well as show adequate proof of his business to officials of Customs at the airport.
