Osun College Shuts due to Students Action

Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun in Oshogbo on Tuesday shut down by school authorities due to the school following violent demonstration by students of the institution over the death of one of their colleagues in an accident in the  town on Monday night.

During the protest, the students allegedly destroyed properties belonging to the Ila Local Government, the personal house of the  Local Government Council chairman, Segun Awotunde and the palace of the Orangun of Ila.

The students, according to sources, accused the council boss of not doing anything to compel  contractors  handling the  rehabilitation of  the road  to finish the work on time, which they claimed was responsible for the death of their colleague.
